The 30-second version
You're an adult of legal cannabis age in your province or state. You own what you post; you give us permission to show it. You won't use Blazed to break the law, harass people, or sell cannabis to anyone. We're a review and discovery platform — not a retailer, not a doctor. We can update these terms; we'll tell you in advance when we do.
The agreement
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a legal contract between you and Blazed Cannabis Co. (“Blazed,” “we,” “us,”or “our”). They govern your use of getblazed.ca, the Blazed apps, our APIs, and every related product or service we publish (together, the “Service”).
You enter into the agreement the moment you open the Service. If you don't agree with any part of these Terms, stop using the Service. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the updated Terms.
Defined terms are written like “This” when first introduced and keep that meaning throughout the document.
Age & eligibility
Cannabis is a regulated substance. Access to Blazed is gated by the minimum legal age for cannabis where you live.
Minimum age by province / territory
- 18+
- Alberta
- 21+
- Quebec
- 19+
- British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Yukon
If you're visiting from outside Canada, you must be the legal cannabis age in your jurisdiction — and in any U.S. state where cannabis remains prohibited, you must be at least 21 years old to access cannabis-related information. By using the Service you represent that you meet that threshold.
You also represent that you are not on any government list that would make our providing the Service to you unlawful, and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
Your account
You can browse most of Blazed without signing in. To post reviews, follow users, save lists, or claim a producer or retail page, you need an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
- Pick a username that doesn't impersonate another person, brand, or licensed cannabis producer, and that isn't built to mislead other reviewers.
- Keep your credentials confidential, and tell us at security@getblazed.ca as soon as you suspect unauthorised access.
- Take responsibility for everything that happens under your account, including content you post and actions taken from your session.
One human, one account. We can refuse, reclaim, or rename an account when it's necessary to keep the directory honest — for example, when a username squats on a licensed brand.
Reviews & content you post
“User Content”means anything you submit — reviews, photos, ratings, comments, lists, sparks, claim packets, and the rest. Your User Content belongs to you. You don't sign your copyright over to us by posting it.
You promise that, for each thing you post:
- You created it, or you have the rights to use it the way the Service uses it.
- It doesn't infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, trade secret, publicity, or privacy rights.
- It isn't false, defamatory, or written to harm a producer, retailer, or another user.
- It complies with the Cannabis Act and the federal, provincial, or state laws that apply to you.
We do not pre-vet every post — that wouldn't be possible at scale, and it would be hostile to the community. We do moderate after the fact, and we may remove or hide User Content that violates these Terms or the law.
Reviews specifically
Reviews must reflect your genuine experience with the product you're reviewing. Paid reviews, undisclosed sponsorships, review-swap schemes, and review-bombing of competitors are all grounds for removal and account termination — and may be reported to Health Canada or the FTC depending on jurisdiction.
Our licence to display your work
To run the Service we need a narrow, free licence from you to take your User Content and actually use it on Blazed. You grant Blazed a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, format, distribute, and display your User Content for the operation and promotion of the Service.
“Adapt” covers normal product behaviours — resizing your photos, extracting an excerpt for a recommendation card, indexing the words for search. It does not mean we sell your content to a third party. We won't.
The licence ends when you delete the content — with one practical carve-out: if someone else has already reshared or quoted your review, the copy that lives inside their post stays where it is. We may also retain backup copies for the period set out in our Privacy Policy.
You can withdraw the licence at any time by deleting the content or your account.
Acceptable use
We keep this list short and specific. Don't use Blazed to:
- Buy, sell, broker, trade, advertise, or facilitate the sale of cannabis, cannabis accessories, or any controlled substance. We are not a marketplace; treating us as one breaks both these Terms and Canadian federal law.
- Post content that targets, sexualises, or otherwise appeals to anyone under the legal cannabis age.
- Harass, threaten, dox, or discriminate against another user, reviewer, employee, or producer.
- Impersonate a licensed producer, retailer, government body, or real person you're not.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise harvest data from the Service for a commercial dataset without our written permission. Personal, non-commercial caching is fine.
- Reverse-engineer the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities (we run a separate security disclosure programme for that), or run automated traffic that materially degrades performance for others.
- Upload malware, spam, phishing payloads, or anything that tampers with how the Service works.
- Use the Service to violate any law that applies to you — full stop.
What Blazed isn't
Blazed is a community directory for cannabis discovery and review inside Canada. Some clarity, because it matters legally:
- We don't sell cannabis.Listings link out to licensed producers and provincial retailers; we don't process orders, hold inventory, or take payment.
- We aren't your doctor. Articles, dosing curves, terpene notes, and reviews are educational and community-sourced. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- We aren't a regulator.Health Canada and the provincial cannabis authorities regulate licensed producers and retailers; we surface their public information and apply our own moderation, but we don't set the law.
Producer & retailer listings
Blazed maintains a directory of Canadian licensed producers, shops, and the products they make available. Listings combine three signals:
- Public regulatory data. Producer licences, product registrations, and provincial retail data — pulled from Health Canada, the OCS, BCLDB, the SQDC, and equivalent authorities in each province.
- Operator-supplied information. Once a producer or shop claims their listing, they can update images, contact details, descriptions, and product metadata. Operator-supplied content is subject to Section 5 and the Cannabis Act promotion rules.
- Community review. Independent reviews, ratings, and lists posted by signed-in adult users.
We work to keep the directory accurate, but we don't warrant that any listing is current, complete, or free of error. If you spot something wrong, the fastest fix is to claim the listing or email listings@getblazed.ca.
Our intellectual property
The Service itself — the Blazed name and wordmark, the leaf icon, our colour system, our editorial articles, our code, our curation, our schema design — is owned by Blazed Cannabis Co. and protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law.
You may quote our editorial articles for non-commercial use with attribution and a link back. You may not republish them in full, repackage them into a competing product, or use our brand assets to suggest endorsement we haven't given.
If you believe content on Blazed infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@getblazed.ca with the work in question, where it appears on Blazed, your contact details, and a statement made under penalty of perjury that you are the rights-holder or authorised agent. We process notices under the Canadian Copyright Act notice-and-notice regime and the U.S. DMCA, as applicable.
Third-party services
The Service links out to producer websites, provincial retailers, peer-reviewed studies, news outlets, and embedded tools. Following any of those links takes you off Blazed.
We don't control what those third parties do. Their terms and privacy policies apply on their pages, not ours. If a third-party retailer ships, sells, or refuses to ship to you, that's between you and them; please don't ask us to act as referee.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Blazed disclaims all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of content, and uninterrupted operation.
We don't guarantee that any product information, terpene profile, cannabinoid percentage, or strain genealogy on the Service is accurate. The authoritative source for product information is the product label and the licensed producer.
Nothing in this section limits a non-waivable right you have under the consumer protection laws of your home province or state.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Blazed, its directors, officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising out of your use of the Service, even if we've been told that those damages are possible.
Our total liability to you for direct damages arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you've paid Blazed in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CA $100).
Some jurisdictions don't allow the limitation of certain damages — in those places, the limits above apply only to the extent permitted by local law.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Blazed and our team from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
We'll cooperate with you in the defence of any covered claim and reserve the right to assume sole control of the defence if we choose.
Suspension & termination
You can close your account at any time from the account screen. Closing your account removes your profile and disassociates your public content; cached copies and backups may persist for the window set out in our Privacy Policy.
We can suspend or terminate access — to part of the Service or all of it — when:
- You materially violate these Terms (including the acceptable use rules in Section 6).
- Your activity creates legal risk for Blazed or another user.
- We are required by law, court order, or regulatory direction to do so.
- We discontinue the Service, in whole or in part — in which case we'll give you a reasonable window to export your data first.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — IP, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, governing law — continue to apply.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes that aren't resolved informally — except where a non-waivable consumer protection statute in your home jurisdiction says otherwise.
Try direct first. Before filing anything, please email legal@getblazed.ca with a description of your concern. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and resolve in good faith within 30 days.
For U.S. residents. Any dispute you bring against Blazed in the United States will be resolved by binding individual arbitration before the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in your county of residence or virtually at your option. You and Blazed both waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action. This waiver does not apply to small-claims disputes or to claims that cannot be arbitrated as a matter of law.
Changes to these terms
The cannabis legal landscape moves; so will these Terms. When we make a material change, we'll notify signed-in users in the product and by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” stamp at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
A live archive of previous versions is available on request from legal@getblazed.ca.
